Easypath®

Prefabricated cycle path elements made of high-quality concrete with guaranteed shape retention. The elements are monolithically manufactured from self-compacting concrete with a concrete quality according to NBN EN 206-1: C55/67 (environmental class: EE4, EA3 ; environmental class: XA3, XC4, XF4 ). The qualitative follow-up of the manufacturing process is demonstrated with a KOMO certificate (BRL 2813). The maximum axle load is 100 kN (thickness 14 cm) or 150 kN (thickness 20 cm).

Easypath® is provided with a top layer with a surface roughness that simultaneously ensures comfortable cycling with low rolling resistance and increased safety in freezing weather (unpolished resistance = 75 according to NBN EN 1339) without rutting. The elements are not provided with facilities and or openings for manipulation. The operation is done with approved stop material that uses vacuum technology.

The elements are connected to each other every 2m, in the longitudinal direction, by means of a flexible coupling system , ensuring the connection between the different parts and guaranteeing cycling comfort, without differences in height between the various elements over time. Moreover, this prevents root ingrowth.

An elastic sealant, which is applied evenly in the joints, prevents weeds from growing.

The elements are provided with a joint sealing system using an elastic sealant.

For work on underlying utility pipes, the elements can be removed without damage and without chopping or breaking work and then, after the intervention, put back in their original condition.

Easypath® can be taken into use immediately the day after installation, limiting the nuisance for local residents. Moreover, the placement is independent of the climatic conditions.

Easypath® is custom drawn up via a detailed installation plan so that it can easily be used to replace existing bicycle paths. It is available in different colors and standard widths of 0.75, 1, 1.25, 1.5, 1.75, 2, 2.25, 2.5, 2.75, 3, 3.25, 3.5 and 4 m. Other sizes between the minimum and maximum size are optionally available.

OPTIONAL EXTENSIONS

Climatepath®

Rainwater runoff from the cycle path, but also from the longitudinal road, is collected via the inlet openings, buffered, infiltrated and/or discharged with a delay (max. connected area = 12.5m²/m) . This takes into account a rainwater shower that occurs once every 20 years according to the Code of Good Practice.

The Climatepath® consists of individual elements, which are manufactured from the high-quality self-compacting concrete with a design life of 60 years. The qualitative follow-up of the manufacturing process is demonstrated with a KOMO certificate (BRL 2813). The maximum axle load is 150 kN.

The different elements can be connected to each other with a screw bolt system.

The Climatepath® combines 5 functions in 1 solution: cycle path, buffering, filtering, infiltration, flow inhibition.

Buffering : the rainwater buffer is at least 1,100 L/m.

Infiltration : the water permeability of the infiltration facility is greater than 1·10-4 m/s (according to PTV 122/126), which is comparable to the infiltration capacity of coarse sand.

Infiltration surface: the infiltration surface is at least 0.85 m²/m, for the determination of the infiltration surface only the walls of the infiltration facility are taken into account, since the horizontal surface can be closed by precipitating particles. Due to the unique concept of the infiltration facility, the influence zone remains limited in width.

The infiltration facility can optionally be provided with a filter that removes hydrocarbons or other suspended particles. This integrated filter element is accessible on the inside of the buffer and can therefore be inspected, cleaned and regenerated.

Flow inhibition (delayed drainage): solution based on water-permeable concrete:

  • Which continues to guarantee good operation even at very small flow rates (up to max. 1 L/s)
  • No mechanical parts, which avoids the chance of failure
  • The chance of blockage is drastically reduced
  • In addition, this technology does not show any breakdown at higher pressures and has a linear outflow as a function of the water level present.

The border elements are integrated and adapted to the minimum height of the cars, so that the Climatepath® can easily be crossed by cars leaving or entering their parking lot.

Thermopath®

This cycle path system is provided with an integrated heating system with cast-in pipes during the manufacturing process. By subsequently connecting these pipes to a heat source, such as geothermal heat, sewage heat or residual heat, the cycle path is heated immediately and evenly using a heat exchanger. The system is completely modular , so that the heating pipes of two adjacent concrete elements can be interconnected.

The energy-efficient control of the heating takes place automatically on the basis of sensors installed in the bicycle path, so that the bicycle path is always (timely) free of ice and snow without the use of road salt.

Solarpath®

Easypath® prefab concrete cycle path elements can be provided with a top layer with solar collectors . The energy generated by the cycle path will be used to power the cycle path itself, surrounding buildings, homes, public spaces, street lighting or signalling. The top layer with solar collectors has been treated in such a way that it also offers sufficient grip to cyclists and/or hikers in wet conditions.

Reflexpath®

The ReflexPath® is a cycle path where the total riding surface is reflective. As a result, the cycle path remains clearly visible in relation to the verges and an important contribution is made to the safety of the cyclist . The ReflexPath® provides an excellent contrast value of K> 0.35. The addition of light to white aggregates improves visibility as the reflectivity increases. In addition, the top layer ensures high skid resistance and a lower temperature of the road surface in high summer conditions.
